To provide a comprehensive transport service for the Tourism industry; predominantly airport transfers, allowing visitors and our British Antarctic Survey clients, the ability to meet their schedules through a structured, friendly and disciplined approach.

Our Business

Falkland Islands Tours and Travel Ltd was established in 1997.  There are two Directors - Andrew and Glen Williams.  Andrew manages the business on a day-to-day basis along with two full-time staff.  His brother Glen assists when required.  The FITT team is also complemented by 30 additional seasonal staff who are either qualified Registered Tour Guides or drivers.

The fleet includes 9 coaches, 5 mini-buses and 3 freight vehicles.

Falkland Islands Tours & Travel's main services include airport transfers throughout the year, onshore movement support services for the British Antarctic Survey and cruise ship tours over the summer season.  Over the last few years, FITT have actively developed relationships with cruise companies and now provide shore excursion agency services to them.

South America and the Falkland Islands are becoming increasingly popular with cruise companies around the globe - we are expecting approximately 80 cruise ship visits during the 2004/05 season. This increasing popularity is partly due to the rugged beauty and the huge abundance of wildlife that the Islands have to offer. Our summer 'high' season typically runs from November to the end of March, presenting an attraction for tourists escaping the northern hemisphere winter.  If you are still deliberating about cruising the South Americas and the Falkland Islands, then deliberate no longer!  If you choose your cruise company wisely you will be guaranteed to see some of the most beautiful and unspoiled places in the world.

Many of the customers we have had the pleasure of accommodating agree that our tours, with fully qualified Tour Guides, are the best they have had on their entire cruise.    

As well as operating tours to visiting tourists, FITT also provides exclusively for the transport needs of the British Antarctic Survey. They visit the islands in the summer season as a transit stop for their journey south to their Antarctic bases.  We provide a shuttle service for both BAS vessels, RRS James Clark Ross and RRS Ernest Shackleton.  Our Airport shuttle also transports the incoming and outgoing crew and scientists to and from their vessels, and provides a service for the BAS air crews who fly between here and the Antarctic in Dash-7 and Twin Otter aircraft.  BAS contribute enormously to our overall summer workload, and we work closely with the BAS representative in the islands,  Pauline Sackett.

FITT remain highly committed to tourism in the Falklands and hope that, as the sector continues to grow and develop, that the Falkland Islands Government, along with the private sector, will further invest to improve the infrastructure of the Islands' tourism industry.
